Holt Girls Lacrosse had a great night out for their first game of the 2023 season away against Lansing Catholic. Coming up with a 22-11 final score, top offensive contributors included: Maddie Nowak with 7 goals and 1 assist, Emma Netzel with 3 goals and 3 assists, Ryan Vandlen with 3 goals and 3 assists, Gianna Edgerly with 4 goals, Hadlei Olson with 2 goals, and Kara Johnson, Lauren, Johnson, and Allison Metzger with one goal each. Bre Cornelius also put up an assist during the game. Defensive players Jada Price-Williams and Sarah Garver led in the defensive end with a strong showing, while goalie Anastasia Brigman had an impressive 72% save average on the game.
Draw controls contributed to Holt's success, with Hadlei Olson commanding the draw with 13 draw wins, in good company with Gianna Edgerly who controlled 6 draws, and Allison Metzger with one.
